Masters Women Player Nominations
Hockey Victoria are now accepting nominations from eligible women's masters players and officials for the 2017 state teams to compete in the
National Championship 29 September – 7 October in Newcastle, NSW.

Please Note: 18th June trials, we only have one field at Footscray, therefore warm up drills will be from 7.30am and trial games from 8.00 – 11.00am
PLEASE NOTE: ALL NOMINEES ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND BOTH TRIALS FOR THEIR AGE GROUP
SELECTION OF STATE TEAMS:
State teams will consist of no more than 14 players unless the selection panel considers there are circumstances that warrant a larger squad.
· 2 x 2 hour Trials. This can be in the form of games and skill based testing.
· All nominated players must be able to attend all designated Trials. Players with known conflicting commitments including other sports, work and/or holidays should put this in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the trials commencing. HV reserve the right to not accept holiday absences as a reason for non-attendance.
If you are unable to attend due to an injury you must provide a medical certificate and a copy of your rehabilitation plan that confirms your availability for training and the tournament.
Final Team Selection
The designated Chairman of Selectors will chair the selection meetings.
Coaches are welcome to have input into decision making, but in a deadlock situation the final decision will be made by a vote of all on the selection panel
The HV State Team Manager or a designated representative will sit in on all final team selections to oversee the process, but will have no input into team selection. Their job is to ensure all procedures have been followed correctly and that all members of the panel complete and sign off on the team sheet.
The team sheet will be given to the HV CEO for final ratification.
All non-selected players can request a feedback report if they wish. This request needs to be made within the week following team announcements.
Teams will be announced on the HV website following ratification by the CEO.
If Train ons are named, they must be ranked by position for their inclusion into the team if injury occurs at the selection table and this information included onto the official sheet.
The following form part of the selection criteria for all Hockey Victoria State teams.
· Distribution skills (e.g. pushing, slapping, hitting and overheads)
· Defensive capabilities (e.g. tackling, marking and positioning)
· Elimination & ball carrying ability
· Game Awareness
· Penalty corner skills (attacking and defensive)
A player’s attitude, behaviour, leadership and communication skills may also be taken into consideration during all parts of the Trial process.
AGE ELIGIBILITY & INFORMATION:
Players must be either of or over the age of their team on December 31, 2017. E.g.: DOB 31/12/1980 = 35+;
Players will generally be selected in their age group.
$40 nomination fee applies (this includes pitch hire, transaction processing fee, HV administration).
PLAYER NOMINATIONS STRICTLY CLOSE:
COB Friday May 19th, 2017
Late nominations after the close date will incur a $15 late nomination fee.
1. All players are required to bring a white and a black t-shirt to Trials.
2. No State or Australian uniform is to be worn
3. All players are required to arrive to the trials 30 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time.

Nominees Please Note:
On selection a tailored fitness program will be provided to each team member. It is expected that all members will follow the regime, unless there has been consultation and agreement with the team coach and fitness trainer in relation to medical or other needs.
Estimated team costs will be approximately $2100 per player.
The team costs include team entry, all training sessions, vehicle transport and accommodation in Newcastle from Wednesday 27th September to departure on Sunday 8th October inclusive.
Estimated personal costs for meals, uniform, flights & any other incidentals is suggested at approximately $1000-1200.
All players must be financial with Hockey Victoria’s Invoicing, Fee Collection & Suspension Policy to be eligible for these teams.
